On Friday the 19th of August the Young Israel Centre hosted a girls Shabbaton. Seven girls, bat mitzvah and up, joined us before Shul, lit pink candles
for the Pink Shabbat, which was being held around South Africa to support those who are affected by cancer. After candle lighting the girls all went to
shul and took part in tochnits with Orli. They then returned to the Young Israel Centre for a delicious supper and an excellent Tochnit with Orli, before
reciting Tehillim for those affected by cancer.
After Shul on Shabbat day of the 20th of August the Young Israel Centre was filled up with girls and boys from Grade 4 and up attending the Youth
Lunch. Once again we had a fantastic turnout with 25 people attending the lunch. Orli then ran another amazing and meaningful tochnit before taking
everyone back to Shul for Seudah Shlishit, Mincha and Maariv.
