almud Torah’s annual prize giving was a huge success and a lot
of fun. It took place at CHABAD in Umhlanga.
First the students made their own Havdalah candle, and got packets
containing all the brachot and spices to be able to make Havdalah at home.
Our big winner of the two tickets to Israel was won by the gorgeous
Yardena Garber who is very excited to be able to go to Israel. A huge
Mazeltov to Yardena who is a very committed Jewish studies, mishna and
Hebrew student!
All the students who learn Mishnas throughout the year and were tested
on it received four Rand per mishna learnt and a number of students who
had learnt throughout the year got gift vouchers for Toy Zone.
There were also other prizes given out to our wonderful students.
1. The most committed Hebrew student in junior primary was
ISABELLA BAITZ
2. The most committed Hebrew student in senior primary was
ARIELLA BURGER
3. The most committed Jewish Studies student in primary school was
NIC BAITZ
4. The most committed Jewish studies student in high school was
DYLAN COHEN
5. The Talmud Torah mensch prize went to YARDENA GARBER
6. The Union of Jewish women prize for the most enthusiastic student
went to BATSHEVA GARBER
AHUGEMAZELTOVTOALLOF THE TALMUDTORAHSTUDENTS,
WE ARE VERY PROUD OF YOU!! (Those that won as well as those that
attend).
We also launched one of our new exciting learning projects that we are
starting with the students while we continue with the existing ones. We
look forward to an exciting year ahead with everyone growing in their
Jewish knowledge, Hebrew skills, middot and Torah.
A huge thank you to the incredibly professional team of Talmud Torah
teachers who are all qualified and who love teaching the children. This
wonderful team ALWAYS treats the students with a lot of love and respect
while teaching them and have exciting professional material and activities
prepared for each lesson. This material is mostly designed and created by
Rabbi Garber and Rabbi Vegoda and some coming from Israel.
